With Final Fantasy Resonance, one of the mobile series that left a strong mark on many players over the years returns — but this time with the goal of building something new rather than relying purely on nostalgia.

First impressions are positive: the art direction feels polished, the characters have plenty of personality, and the combat system tries to preserve the strategic feel that defined the series while introducing a more modern pace.

Some of the standout features so far include:

• more spectacular and easier-to-read animations
• a stronger focus on team building
• smoother progression during the early hours
• battles that seem to reward planning and synergy rather than simply stacking power

Of course, it’s still too early to say where the project will ultimately go, but the foundations seem promising.
